Nine Patch On Point

I did it!! I completely finished my very first quilt. It was done last month, but I just got around to taking pictures today. It is a lap quilt size, so not very big. I quilted it with a checkered pattern. I really love it despite the many, many, many, many, many imperfections. :) Without further ado, here is quilt #1.

Believe it or not, I had so much fun making my first quilt that I have already ordered my fabric for my second quilt. This one will be a queen size (uh oh...) for my bedroom. It is Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush line (the warm palette). I love it!

The yellow fabric will be used for a few pieces on the front as well as the entire back. The dark brown will be used for some of the front as well as the binding. I can't wait to get started, but I have a few other things I need to finish other things first. Like my degree... Oh, who am I kidding. I'll be starting this baby in a couple weeks. :)

I am also working on a large tote for my mother-in-law. I am still cutting pieces out, but I am quickly falling in love. I hope the sewing goes well. She is here at the beginning of March, so expect a blog update either right before or right after with another project.

Until next time, Happy Sewing!!
Sascha

P.S. Cora loves sitting on my fabric. It is impossible to get her off. She keeps saying, "I liiiiike it." I am glad she approves. :)

  2. Oh Sascha, you are so modest! The quilt looks fantastically awesome in person and I couldn't see any of these imperfections that you speak of!!
